76.3% Chinese Administered COVID-19 Vaccination Doses: China

China administered complete COVID-19 vaccination doses to 76.3% of its population by November 19, said Wu Liangyou, an National Health Commission (NHC) official. According to NHC spokesperson Mi Feng, 1.076 billion people in the country have got the required number of doses for their COVID immunization. Besides, a total of 65.73 million people have also received COVID-19 booster vaccine doses, added Wu.

Indonesia Plans To Start 'Booster Shots' For COVID-19

Indonesia has planned to give booster shots of COVID-19, once 50 percent of the population are vaccinated. Besides, the government has claimed that 29 percent of its population of 270 million citizens have been vaccinated so far. Reportedly, Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, said in a statement, that the plan prioritizes the elderly and poor who are insured by the government, while the rest have to pay for the vaccine.

Beijing Records 9 New Covid-19 Cases; China Tightens Restrictions

South Korea Starts Easing Restrictions Related To COVID-19

South Korea on October 29, said that it's going to lift COVID-19 curbs in the country. The removal of restrictions will be done phase-wise, with the 1st ease being implemented on November 1. Notably, the country has reached its goal by vaccinating 70% of its population. Reportedly, vaccine passports will be implemented, for people to enter gyms, cafes, and other public venues in the country.

4 Death, 463 Fresh COVID Cases Reported In Mumbai; 4,550 Active Cases

Mumbai has reported 463 fresh COVID-19 cases on October 20, taking the total active cases to 4,550. Besides, the city reported 4 deaths, taking the death toll to 16,192. Reportedly, the number of active cases in the metropolitan city stands at 7,51,957. Further, as many as 40 buildings have been sealed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to avoid virus spread due to the ongoing pandemic.

WHO To Send New Team To China For Investigation On 'Pandemic Origin'

After two unsuccessful visits of WHO officials to China, WHO is set to relaunch probe into investigation of the origin of the pandemic. The new team of 20 members ranges experts from scientists, specialists, animal disease experts to geneticists. In absence of a concrete response from China, the new team is likely to face stiff resistance from Chinese authorities. However, after over two years, collecting raw data remains a challenge.
