281 Test COVID Positive At Karnataka's SDM College; Health Minister Issues Curbs

Karnataka's health minister, K Sudhakar, announced on November 27 that SDM College of Medical Sciences in the state's Dharwad district has become a Covid-19 cluster, with 281 people on campus testing positive. Schools and institutions within a 500-meter radius of SDM college have been closed and surrounding areas have sanitized. According to reports, eight ambulances at college are on standby, and visitors to the campus have been limited.

PM Modi Chairs Meeting; Discusses Covid-19, Vaccination & Omicron Variant

Prime minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting on November 27 related to the COVID-19 situation and vaccination with the top officials. According to reports, India has been planning to take measures on the newly found COVID-19 variant "Omicron". The virus has been first detected in South Africa, and the government adds several countries to the list where travelers would need to follow additional measures on arrival to India.

Russia Reports 34,690 New COVID-19 Cases In The Last 24 Hours

Russia Reported 34,690 covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours bringing a commutative up to 9,502,879 cases in the country, according to the federal response center. Moscow alone registered 3,929 and Saint Petersburg with 1,704 new COVID-19 cases. Moreover, the response centre reported 1,235 deaths, bringing the total death toll to 270,292. The rate of increase in the active cases lies at 0.37 per cent, according to the centre.

Indore Registers 13 New Covid-19 Cases, 9 Of Them Were Army officers: Report

Indore recorded 13 new cases of Covid-19 in the previous 24 hours. Nine of the 13 incidents involve Army personnel, some of whom were enrolled at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore for a course. Although these officers were properly vaccinated and asymptomatic, they were admitted to the Mhow military hospital. According to reports, the death toll in Covid has increased to 1,393 in the city.

India Reports 9,119 New Covid-19 Cases; Active Cases Lowest In 539 Days

India reported 9,119 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 3,45,44,882. The active cases in the country currently stands at 1,09,940, which is the lowest in 539 days. Furthermore, a daily increase in fresh infections has been below 20,000 since 48 days. However, 4,66,980 deaths due to Covid-19 has been reported so far, and over 119.38 crore vaccinations have been administered.

People in Netherlands, France, and Belgium continued to protest on the COVID-19 curbs. According to reports, people continued to show up in numbers across the European cities with police deploying water cannons and tear gases to disperse the crowd. Karnataka Records 178 New COVID-19 Cases & 2 Deaths

Karnataka reported 178 new COVID-19 cases and two fatalities, bringing the total number of infections to 29,93,777 and deaths to 38,177 on November 22.  A total of 373 discharges were recorded, bringing the overall number of recoveries in the state to 29,48,704, according to a health department's report. According to the bulletin, there were 6,867 active cases in the state, with a positivity rate of 0.31 percent.

Kamal Haasan, the president of Makkal Needhi Maiam and an actor, said on November 22 that he had tested positive with COVID-19 and had been hospitalized.
