SC Refuses Bail Extension To Convicts Released Over COVID-19 Outbreak

The Supreme Court on March 1 refused to extend bail to 2,674 prisoners from Delhi who were released to decongest jails, following the COVID-19 outbreak. Kolkata: Dead Body Stored In Freezer For Two Days After Failing To Get Death Certificate

The septuagenarian died of breathlessness on June 29 before testing for COVID-19. His sudden death forced family to rent out refrigerator and store his body, after the doctors denied to issue a death certificate without COVID-19 test result. "They continuously tried to contact the health department but none responded. However, on July 1 the department finally called up and set the process in motion," said a family member to PTI.
