Tamil Nadu Govt Extends Covid-19 Lockdown Till August 9
To contain the spread of Covid-19 in the state, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin has further extended the ongoing lockdown until August 9. However, the inter-state bus transport facility will remain curtailed, excluding traveling to Puducherry. Besides, the headcount in weddings and funerals remain 50 and 20 respectively. Action will be taken against those who break the Covid-19 norms, the CM added.

Migrants Forced To Pay Rs 2500-Rs 3000 To Cross Maharashtra Border Amidst Curfew
Migrant workers returning to their respective states have complained of extortion by Maharashtra police and transport services, as Maharashtra imposed a 15-day curfew. A migrant from Madhya Pradesh revealed that a traveller bus charged Rs 2500 to Rs 3000 per ticket only to desert them at the borders. Besides, the migrants were also seen crammed in jeeps entering MP which was allegedly overlooked by the Maharashtra police at the border.

Rupee Closes At 74.47 Against Dollar; Biggest One-Day Fall In 20-Months
The Indian rupee saw a decline of 105 paise against one US dollar, on April 7 markets shuts at 74.47 making it the biggest fall in last 20-months. However, the RBI's status quo on repo rate remains firm. According to a Research analyst Saif Mukadam, the depreciation is fuelled due to new lockdown restrictions. Besides, the Central government claims that the economic growth remains uncertain due to lockdown.

Delhi Suffers One Murder, Four Rape Every 20-Hours; Report Reveals
Recent reports have revealed that Delhi witnessed 1,699 rape cases, 2,186 molestation cases and 65 sexual assault cases against children in 2020.
