Coronavirus Was Planned As Bio-weapon 5 Yrs Ago In China, Claims Report

A report by Weekend Australian has claimed that Chinese military scientists had planned to use the coronaviruses as a biological weapon five years before the COVID-19 pandemic. When asked for document-confirmation by cyber security expert Robert Potter, he said, "It's not fake but it is up to someone else to interpret how serious it is." The expert also emphasized on China's unwillingness to cooperate in the investigations.

SC Orders 15% Reduction In Fees Of 36,000 Private Schools In Rajasthan

In view of the ongoing pandemic, the Supreme Court on May 3 ordered 36,000 private schools in Rajasthan to provide 15% discount on school fees for the session 2020-21. The court stated students can pay the amount concerned in six installments before August 5, 2021 with further possible concessions. It also warned that no student should be barred from attending classes and results should not be withheld over fee payment.

Domestic Violence Related Google Searches Up By Huge During COVID: Study

The journal Taylor and Francis' study analyzing Google searches showed that instances of male violence due to pandemic increased from 31% to 106% in 2020. The US-based analysis showed that Google search on 'How to control your woman' and 'how to hit a woman so no one knows' was searched 16.5 crore times. Revealing indicators of violence the report highlighted searches "He will kill me" and "he beats me up".

France Promises To Aid India With Oxygen Generators, Ventilators

France has also extended its support to India's fight against the pandemic as it announced to supply COVID-related assistance to India at the earliest. The French government on April 26 stated it would provide eight high-capacity oxygen generators, liquid oxygen for 2,000 patients for five days and 28 ventilators. It added that all the necessities will be transported via air and sea routes by this week's end.
