Education Dept Issues Guidelines To Speed Up Vaccination For Children: Delhi

The Directorate of Education has instructed all the schools to ensure children belonging to the 12-14 age group are vaccinated. Parents are also asked to take their children to the nearest vaccine centres at the earliest. Also, the schools are required to update the directorate the number of students vaccinated daily. Schools have also been notified to arrange separate queues and staff for verification in the Covid-19 vaccination centres.

Delhi Opens 1st Child-Friendly Vaccination Centre

The first child-friendly vaccination clinic has been opened in Delhi, with toys, electronic games, and musical instruments. "Keeping in mind the waiting time post-vaccination, we have created a vaccination center so that kids can play, we have also kept toys so that they are kept engaged," said Dr. Sameer Bhati. He further stated that the government will determine the cost of vaccines for children.

J&J Covid-19 Vaccine Approved For Emergency Use In India

Johnson & Johnson’s single-shot Covid-19 vaccine has been approved for emergency use by India on August 7 amid the growing fear of the upcoming third wave. Health Minister took to Twitter saying, “India expands its vaccine basket! Johnson and Johnson's single-dose Covid-19 vaccine is given approval for Emergency Use in India.” However, the date of arrival of the doses has not been confirmed yet.

Nurse Injects Empty Syringe During Vaccination Drive In Bihar

An empty syringe of COVID-19 vaccine was injected to a man in Bihar’s Chhapra. The incident filmed by victim’s friend went viral all over social media. However, he taped it to capture his friend's reactions while getting vaccinated. Later, the victim informed of headache after being injected. Reportedly, the nurse was removed from duty after officials were informed.

Facebook Partners With Govt To Launch In-app Vaccine Finder Tool

Social media giant Facebook has launched an in-app vaccine centre finding tool in a collaborative effort with the Indian government. The tool, using the information provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, will enable people to look for vaccination centres and their operating hours. The vaccine tracker tool will provide support in 17 languages and will also guide home-isolated patients in managing COVID-19 mild symptoms.
