Covid-19 Vaccination Drive

The COVID-19 booster dose vaccination drive started at private vaccination centers across India, on April 10.  Recently, the Union Health Ministry announced the precautionary dose for the 18+ population of India.  However, the doses will only be available at private centers at a cost of Rs. 225 per dose. Furthermore, people vaccinated with the two COVID-19 doses, with a gap of nine months is eligible for booster.

Despite free vaccination at the government centres, the volunteer turnouts at Delhi’s private hospitals was reported at 74%. Reportedly, only 3,063 people out of the 11,655 got vaccinated at government centres, rest visited private facilities for inoculation paying Rs 250 per shot.
