WHO Alerts For Another Deadlier Than COVID-19 Pandemic

The head of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, issued a warning that the world must get ready for the next pandemic, which might be "even deadlier" than the COVID-19 pandemic, at a time when COVID cases are somewhat stabilising around the world. "The end of COVID-19 as a global health emergency is not the end of COVID-19 as a global health threat," Mr Tedros said.

Singapore PM Lee Tests Covid-19 Positive

Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has tested positive for COVID-19 after recent visit to South Africa and Kenya, confirmed sources. He tweeted and posted a statement on Facebook, “I tested positive for COVID-19 for the first time this morning." Mr Lee, 71, said doctors have prescribed him the antiviral medication because of his age, and prescribed for home isolation.

Rajnath Singh Tests Positive For Novel Coronavirus

Union Defence Minister of India Rajnath Singh tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus. On April 20, an official of the Union Defence Ministry took to Twitter and confirmed that Rajnath Singh have contracted the virus. BMC Mandates Mask Wearing At BMC Hospitals

India COVID-19 Update: Registers 3,038 New Cases In 24 Hours

India COVID-19 cases are rising massively, with over 3,000 new cases registered in past 24-hours. On April 4, the MoHFW reported 3,038 new cases with 9 fatalities, taking the overall tally to 4.47 crores. Furthermore with new cases, active cases in India surged to 21,179 and death toll reached at 5,30,901. In addition, fatality rate increased to 1.19%, active cases comprised of 0.05% and recovery was at 98.76%.

GoI Imposes New COVID-19 Rules From Today

Amid a decline in COVID-19 cases worldwide, the Government of India (GoI,) issued new guidelines for those travelling to India from abroad. As per the new rules, signing 'Air Suvidha' form and mandate of pre-departure COVID-19 test is not required for those travelling from six countries. However, the random 2% testing of international passengers and arrivals from foreign countries will be same, in effect from February 13, 11 AM.
