India reported 9,531 new cases of COVID-19 and 26 fatalities in the last 24 hours, on August 22. A recovery rate of 98.59% has been recorded in the country, taking the total active caseload to 97,648. India’s daily positivity rate stands at 4.15% and weekly positivity rate at 3.59%. Furthermore, India has administered over 210.02 crore cumulative doses of COVID vaccine, since the beginning of the pandemic.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, on February 14, confirmed 34,113 new COVID-19 cases in India. Besides, 91,930 recoveries, and 346 deaths were also reported in 24 hours. While the active caseload in India is at 4,78,882. Notably, the current recovery rate in the country stands at 97.68% and the daily positivity rate at 3.19%. Moreover, as of now, India has administered 172.95 crore vaccine doses to people.

Himachal Pradesh CM Jai Ram Thakur on January 21, said, there are high chances of an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the state. All the big events during the winter have been postponed and the peak is yet to come, he added. "People should follow the guidelines issued by the health department," CM said. Himachal Pradesh on January 20, reported 2,368 new Covid-19 cases and seven deaths.
