COVID-19: Tennis Star Novak Djokovic Released From Detention
World number one men's singles tennis player Novak Djokovic on January 10, won his legal appeal on procedural grounds, quashing decision to cancel his visa. Australia's Federal circuit and Family court quashed the cancellation of Djokovic's visa and confirmed that he will he permitted to stay in Australia. Notably, Djokovic was granted a medical exemption to enter Australia, because he had tested positive for COVID-19.

Uzbekistan Reports 1st Case Of Omicron
The first case of Omicron variant of COVID-19 was confirmed in Uzbekistan, following which pandemic restrictions are tightened in the country, Health Ministry said on January 9. They said that the case was confirmed after a foreign citizen arrived Uzbekistan on January 7, turned infected with the variant. The country has so far registered 200,341 COVID cases and 1,494 related deaths.

2 IAS Officers Among 288 Test Positive For Covid-19: J&K
In the Jammu region, two senior IAS officers among 288 have been tested COVID-19 positive, where six more micro-containment zones were declared on January 7. Amid the rise in cases, all kinds of leaves of health-workers, other staff in Jammu Govt Medical College, and Associated hospitals were cancelled. Reportedly, Union Minister of State in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh is going to take a review of the emerging COVID-19 situation.

Actor Swara Bhasker Tests Positive For COVID-19: Instagram
Actor Swara Bhaskar on her Instagram handle confirmed that she has tested positive for COVID-19, on the night of January 6. The actor was isolated from other family members since January 5 and urged all who came in her contact to get themselves tested. ''I developed symptoms on 5th January 2022 and RT-PCR test results just confirmed the same...Double mask up and stay safe y'all,'' wrote Bhaskar.

Arvind Kejriwal Tested Positive For COVID-19: Delhi
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on January 4 took to Twitter to inform everyone that he has tested positive for COVID-19. He said that he has mild symptoms of the disease and is quarantined at home. ''Those who come in touch with me in the last few days, kindly isolate yourself and get yourself tested,'' added Kejriwal. Notably, Kejriwal addressed a Nav Parivartan Yatra in Dehradun, on January 3.

India Records 22,431 Fresh COVID Cases; 24 Hour Report
The Indian Council Of Medical Research stated that over 14,31,819 tests were conducted on October 6. As per data from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, in the last 24 hours, India recorded 22,431 fresh cases, 24,602 recoveries and 318 deaths. Reportedly, Over 92,63,68,608 people have been vaccinated as of October 7. Also, about 57,86,57,484 tests have been conducted so far.

Controversial Jailed Godman Asaram In ICU After Testing COVID Positive
Self-proclaimed godman Asaram, serving his jail term at Rajasthan's Jodhpur jail, has been admitted to ICU ward of a hospital after testing positive for COVID-19. Moreover, 12 other prisoners have also tested positive for the virus. Earlier, Asaram was arrested in 2014 from Madhya Pradesh's Indore for raping a 16-year-old girl at his Ashram in Jodhpur. He was later sentenced life imprisonment in 2018.

Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot Tests COVID Positive, Under Isolation
Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot has tested positive for COVID-19. Taking to Twitter on April 29, CM Gehlot tweeted, "I have tested positive for COVID-19. I am asymptomatic and feel fine. I will continue working in isolation following the COVID protocol." Earlier on April 28, his wife had tested positive for COVID-19 and the CM, since then, was under isolation. Reportedly, Rajasthan now has 1,63,372 active cases.
