Russia Becomes 1st Country To Approve COVID Vaccine For Animals

Russia has become the first nation in the world to approve COVID-19 vaccine for animals. The vaccine named ‘Carnivac-Cov’ was approved by agricultural regulator Rosselkhoznadzor after it indicated of generating antibodies in dogs, cats, minks and foxes. While the clinical trials on animals, including dogs and cats, started in October 2020, the developer hopes to carry out mass production of the vaccine from April onwards.
