TN Govt Seals ‘Bigg Boss’ Malayalam Set For Flouting COVID-19 Norms
A team led by Thiruvallur Revenue Divisional Officer Preethi Parkavi on May 19 sealed the Chennai's EVP Film City and fined Rs 1 lakh for flouting COVID-19 protocols. The film city was accused of shooting the reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ Malayalam season 3, despite Tamil Nadu government’s ban on film and television shootings amid lockdown. As per sources, the show has completed 95 days with five more days remaining.

K'taka Announces Financial Aid Of Rs 1,250Cr To Lessen Lockdown Pain
The Karnataka government on May 19 announced a financial aid of Rs 1,250 crore for the people in trouble due to COVID-19 lockdown. BCCI Suspends Rest Of IPL After Many Players Tested COVID Positive
BCCI Vice-President Rajiv Shukla on May 4 announced that IPL is suspended due to players testing positive to COVID-19. He said that it is not cancelled and can be rescheduled later. The decision came along when Sunrisers Hyderabad player Wridihiman Saha and various other franchise members tested COVID positive. Assam: Around 300 Flyers Escape Mandatory COVID Test At Silchar Airport
As many as 300 passengers at Assam's Silchar airport on April 21 escaped from the premises to avoid the mandatory RT-PCR test. Reportedly, the testing was scheduled at the Tikol model hospital near the airport for about 690 people landing at Silchar. However, "They literally ran away from the centre," said an airport official. Meanwhile, 189 passengers took the test and the police have been tracking the missing ones.

Covid-19 Lockdown Leaves 10 Lakh School Dropouts in Bihar
In a shocking revelation, over 10 lakh students in Bihar were forced to drop out of their schools due to COVID-19 induced lockdown. Out of which, six lakh students belonged to government schools who studied in class 5 to 6 and the rest were enrolled in classes 8 and 9. Moreover, the Bihar Education Department is eyeing to launch 'Admission Drive' from April 1 to bring back the students.

Taiwan Witnesses No Local COVID-19 Transmission Since April 12
Taiwan has not witnessed any locally transmitted COVID-19 case since April 12. Experts attribute this success in handling the pandemic to "strict border control" and also the past experiences of countering such situations. Taiwan is also expected to be one of those few economies that may see growth in 2020. Reportedly, Taiwan, which has a population of about 23 million, has recorded just 550 COVID-19 cases and seven deaths.

Gujarat: Amid COVID-19 Outbreak, 45% Aspirants Skip JEE Examination
Around 45% JEE Mains' candidates did not turn up at exam centres in Gujarat due to the COVID-19 blues. Out of 3,020 registered students, only 1,664 appeared on the first day of JEE examination held on September 1. Virendra Rawat, JEE coordinator Gujarat, said, "Normally, 25-30% students skip the exam every year. the percentage this year is higher by 10-15%." JEE 2020 examination is scheduled from September 1-6.
