Congress Leader Shashi Tharoor Shares Sarcastic Tweet Over Cow Hug Day

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor took a dig at Animal Welfare Board over 'Cow Hug Day, announced to be celebrated on February 14. Although the board withdrew its order, Tharoor shared a sarcastic tweet. "Was the Government cow-ed by the jokes made at its expense or was it merely cow-ardice. Valentine’s Day: let them hug their guy” & the last word was misheard by a HindiRashtravadi as gaay!" said Tharoor.

No Cow Hug Day On Feb 14, Animal Welfare Board Withdraws Order

On February 10, the Animal Husbandry Welfare Board Issued a fresh circular withdrawing its appeal of hugging cows on Valentine's Day, celebrated worldwide on February 14. "As directed by the Competent Authority and Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying the appeal issued by the Animal Welfare Board of India for the celebration of Cow Hug Day on 14th February 2023 stands withdrawn," read the circular.
