Kerala Congress (M) Leader Jose K Mani Resigns From Rajya Sabha

Kerala Congress (M) leader Jose K Mani announced his resignation as a Rajya Sabha MP on January 9. Mani, who gained the Upper House membership through the United Democratic Front (UDF) support, stated that he resigned “for upholding morality in political life.” Jose K Mani-led Kerala Congress (M) had joined CPI (M) headed LDF due to the emergence of internal disagreements with senior Kerala Congress leader P J Joseph.

After Serving As Sweeper, Kerala Woman Wins Local Body Polls

After being a sweeper at Kollam's Pathanapuram District Panchayat office for 10 years, 46-year-old A Anandavalli became the block Panchayat President. The Dalit woman who contested on a Communist Party of India (Marxist) ticket, won the recently concluded local body polls by 654 votes. Stating that she has responsibilities now, Anandavalli said, “Only my party can do such things. I am really indebted to it”.

Congress To Contest 2021 West Bengal Elections With Left Parties

West Bengal Congress chief Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has announced the party will join hands with the Left parties to face the upcoming assembly polls. Adhir said, "Today the Congress High command has formally approved the electoral alliance with the Left parties in the impending election".
