Crime Branch Arrest 5 Suspected Terrorist Planning Explosion In Bengaluru

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested five suspected terrorists, identified as Syed Suhel, Umar, Janid, Mudasir and Zahid. Arrested on July 19, the terrorist team were allegedly planning to carry out a blast in Bengaluru. Notably, all five are accused in a 2017 murder case and were in Parappana Agrahara Central Jail, where they started their terrorist activities. CCB has also seized explosive materials, said the CCB team.

Crime Branch Pleads To Cancel Malayalam Actor Dileep's Bail: Kerala Actress Assault Case

Crime Branch submitted additional evidence against Malayalam actor Dileep and requested the court to cancel the actor's bail, on April 21. Reportedly, Dileep was granted bail in 2017, under a condition that Crime Branch at any time, plead to cancel the bail if the actor violates the conditions. The facts of the case revolves around an actress who was allegedly molested inside her car by a group of men.

Suspended IPS Officer's Father Is Wanted Accused In Money Extortion Case: Mumbai

In 2021 December, Angadia association filed a money extortion case of Rs 15-18 lakh, against Neelkanth Tripathi, a suspended IPS officer's father. The case was registered with the Mumbai Crime Branch, which now has named Tripathi as a 'wanted accused'. Furthermore, IPS officer Saurabh Tripathi's brother is also involved in the case, named as the fifth wanted to be accused, and has been remanded till April 11, in Uttar Pradesh.

Customer Stabs Fruit-Seller To Death In Null Bazar: Mumbai

Mumbai fruit-seller (Babu Qureshi) was stabbed to death in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The Crime Branch arrested the accused while he was fleeing to UP and booked under IPC sections. "The accused Sohrab Qureshi had a dispute over money transaction after which he stabbed the fruit-seller Babu Qureshi and his son Chhotu Qureshi," said Vinayak Chauhan of Crime Branch. While Babu died on spot, Chhotu is being treated at JJ Hospital.

Mumbai Crime Branch Arrests Vinay Singh: Param Bir Singh Extortion Case

The Mumbai Crime Branch, on December 16, arrested Vinay Singh, an absconding accused in the extortion case registered in July with Goregaon Police Station. Besides, Sachin Waze and Param Bir Singh are also accused in the case, which is now being investigated by the Crime Branch. Six cases of corruption and extortion were filed against Singh, following which he was removed from the Mumbai Police Commissioner's post on March 17.

Aahish Mishra To Be Interrogated In Crime Branch Office: UP Police

In the latest development in the Lakhimpur Kheri Violence case, the UP police has sent Union Minister Ajay Mishra's son Aahish Mishra to the Crime Branch office to start the further interrogation on October 12. A day ago, police received three-day remand of Ashish Mishra from the Chief Judicial Magistrate Chintaram. Notably, Aashish is accused of the violence, in which eight people, including four farmers, were killed.

Actor Dalip Tahil's Son Arrested In Drug Case In Mumbai

The Mumbai Police Crime Branch has arrested actor Dalip Tahil's son Dhruv in a drug case after his WhatsApp chats with arrested drug dealer Muzammil AR Shaikh were recovered. Dhruv was reportedly in touch with Shaikh since 2019 and had made six payments to Shaikh's accounts for purchasing drugs. Meanwhile, Dhruv's father Dalip has refused to react, saying, "I don't want to comment at the moment."

Chandigarh Crime Branch Nabs Security Guard Under Bank Robbery

Chandigarh crime branch police arrested a security guard Sunil Kumar on April 14, in a robbery of Rs 4.04 crore from the Axis bank. Deployed by MSF security agency, Kumar was at night duty on April 11 and went missing while the currency chest of the bank was damaged.
