A PhD student from IIT Kanpur was found dead in his hostel room, on September 6. The incident reportedly came to light after Prasant Singh, the student, locked himself inside the room and didn’t step out. When the security forced entry into the room, Singh was found hanging from the ceiling, with the help of a bed sheet. His body was taken to a Mortuary, and further investigation is underway.

Maharashtra police arrested three MNS workers after a video of them abusing, assaulting and pushing an elderly woman went viral on social media. The accused have been identified as Vinod Argyle, Raju Argyle and Satish Lad, and case under sections 323, 337, 506, 504 and 509 of IPC. Reportedly, the accused were installing a bamboo structure to hang a banner in front of a shop, to which the woman opposed.

A “Psycho Killer” is on the loose in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar, as three watchmen have been killed in the last 72 hours, confirmed officials. Police stated that the killer uses hammer, stone and spade to commit the act, and targets those that sleep outside at night. According to the ASP, the police department has got important leads and are interrogating the suspects. Reportedly, four watchmen have been killed two months.

In Delhi’s Devli area, shots were fired in Raju park, informed officials on August 26. The firing has resulted in the death of one person, and left another person injured. The deceased has been identified as Kapil, who doesn’t have a good reputation in the area, reported ANI. A case has been filed and an investigation is underway. In Haryana’s Ambala, six members of the same family were found dead in their house in Balana village, informed officials on August 26. The death has reportedly been caused after the dinner last night. Police have also recovered a suicide note from the spot. The deceased have been identified as sangam Ram, his wife Mahindra Kaur, Sukhwinder Singh, his wife Reena, and daughters Ashu and Jassi.
