Cryptocurrency Is Risk, Can Be Used For Illegal Purposes: Nirmala Sitharaman
Union FM Nirmala Sitharaman pointed out the biggest risk of cryptocurrency and said, "I think the biggest risk for all countries across the board will be the money laundering aspect and also the aspect of currency being used for financing terror." Addressing the Spring Meeting of the World Bank, Sitharaman shared her views on digital money and regulation for the same. She also held bilateral meetings with international leaders.

Karnataka Bitcoin Case, Home Minister Says No links With It
The Bitfinex cryptocurrency hacking in August 2016 is under investigation by US agencies as USD 4.5 billion bitcoin was stolen. It was referred to the hacker being from Bengaluru who was arrested in November 2020. However, the home minister of Karnataka released a statement, “American agencies have arrested two US nationals a few days ago and have recovered the entire amount that was hacked from the Bitfinex exchange."

Mysterious Black Diamond Up For Auction At $7 Million: The Enigma
A mysterious black diamond named 'The Enigma' is set to be sold at an auction, at Sotheby’s in Beverly Hills, California. The gem is called carbonado diamond and weighs 555.55 carats. The diamond will be auctioned from February 3 to 9 and Cryptocurrency will also be accepted as payment. It is the largest faceted Fancy Black Diamond to be auctioned and has previously been listed in the 2006 Guinness Book.

Govt To Introduce Crypto Currency Regulatory Bill Soon: FM Sitharaman
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on November 30 said Central Government has planned to bring a bill to regulate crypto currency in India. Addressing the Rajya Sabha, the Union FM said, "I am indicating, there will not be a prohibition (on Cryptocurrency.'' Reportedly, the Union Government's bill will include a framework, regulations, and restrictions on Cryptocurrency, instead of a complete ban in India.

Centre Plans To Prohibit Cryptocurrency As Legal Transaction In India

El Salvador Plans To Built World's First 'Bitcoin City'
El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele announced plans to establish the world's first "Bitcoin City," funded by bitcoin-backed bonds. He assured that the cryptocurrency will help the Central American country attract investment. Moreover, Bukele stated that the city would use geothermal energy from a volcano and would not collect any taxes other than the value-added tax (VAT).
