Study Claims Cooking With Biomass Fuels Lead To High Risk Of Lung Damage

A study by Iowa University and Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology has shown that people cooking with biomass fuels are more vulnerable to lung damage. The researchers used comparative Advanced CT scan imaging to prove that lungs of biomass users had a higher level of trapped pollutants than those using LPG. It also mentioned biomass pollutants are capable of killing around 4 million people from household air pollution.

CT Scans Can Detect COVID-19 Using AI Algorithm: Research

According to a study published in Nature Communications, CT scan along with an Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithm can detect COVID-19. The study revealed that this method had an accuracy of 84% in positive cases and 93% in negative cases. The research asserted CT scans were better than the RT-PCR tests and can also be used to detect the disease in asymptomatic patients. The AI algorithm helps to differentiate between influenza and COVID-… read-more
