Kadalekai Parishe, also known as groundnut festival started in Bengaluru's Basavanagudi on November 29. It is a three-day festival which is celebrated to welcome the first yield of the groundnut crop. Furthermore, a BBMP official stated that it was important to maintain proper decorum with regards to Covid-19. Jaya, a visitor said, "I can see all the COVID-19 norms are being followed here. However, the festival has changed with time".
