Section 144 Imposed In Rajasthan's Karauli Amid Communal Violence

Authorities imposed a curfew and the internet was also shut down in Rajasthan’s Karauli, on April 2. In addition, restrictions have been imposed due to communal clashes in the area. About two dozen people were injured in the violence while 30 people were detained, informed Additional Director General of Police. Notably, CM Ashok Gehlot appealed to contribute and play a constructive role in building peace and development in the state.

Assam Government Issues Fresh COVID-19 Guidelines To Curtail Spread

The Assam Government, on January 24, has issued a fresh SoP amid COVID-19 surge and the Republic Day celebration. Night curfew will be imposed from 10 pm to 6 am and schools will remain closed for offline classes, continuing with the online classes. The gathering for Republic Day function will also be limited to a maximum of 1,000 people in the Kamrup district, without participation of school students.

Bihar Govt Orders To Close Schools, Colleges To Curb COVID-19 Cases

In view of the rising COVID-19 cases, the Bihar government on January 6 ordered to close all schools, colleges, coaching centres, and hotels till January 21. The government and private offices were asked to work with only 50% staff presence. It also ordered to close parks, gyms, religious places, and malls for 14 days. Besides, a statewide night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am is already in effect.

Auto drivers in Delhi have said that they are facing hardship, and their daily living is getting affected, due to curfew during night hours, in view of rising cases. Bharat Prasad, an auto driver has said that they are not getting enough passengers, because of night curfew, due to which their daily income gets affected. The government imposed a night curfew in Delhi, which was effective from December 27, 2021.

Odisha Govt Imposes Night Curfew, Bans Picnics For Jan: Omicron

Odisha government issued new guidelines for January 2022 to curb the spread of COVID-19's Omicron variant in the state. Petrol Bombs Hurled At Meghalaya CM's Residence In Shillong

Vehicle-borne attackers hurled two petrol bombs at the residence of Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma of Meghalaya on August 15 at 10:15 pm in Shillong. The miscreants threw the first bomb at the front of the house and the second from the backside. Meanwhile, no injuries were recorded, the police confirmed. Besides, Shillong is under curfew due to unusual practices of vandalism and arson.

UP Govt Allows Malls, Restaurants To Open On Weekdays At 50% capacity

Haryana Imposes Section 144 Throughout State As COVID Cases Mount

The Haryana government on April 27 announced the imposition of Section 144 (curfew) across the state. Earlier, the prohibitory order was issued only for few districts. The government has already announced a night curfew and imposed restrictions on the number of people allowed for gatherings due to a steep surge in COVID-19 cases. "For this, every necessary arrangement will be made," stated the government notification.
