Customs Seize 3.25 Kg Gold From 3 Instances At Kochi Airport Within 24 Hours

Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of the customs department seized around 3.25 Kg gold from passengers on three separate occasions, all from Kochi airport, within 24 hours. The total seizure is estimated to be worth Rs 1.50 crore.  In the first instance, 1,257 grams of gold was seized from two passengers. In the second instance, around 200 grams of gold powder was seized. Lastly, 1,783.27 grams was seized from another passenger.

Customs Officials Arrest 2 IndiGo Staffers For Aiding In Gold Smuggling: Kerala

Two officials of the IndiGo airlines have been arrested by the customs department officials in Kerala’s Kozhikode International Airport (Karipur Airport) on September 15. The arrests have been made for alleged aiding in gold smuggling in the airlines. Reportedly, the accused allegedly helped in smuggling 4.9 Kg of gold worth Rs 2.5 crore. The gold was found in a passenger’s bag, who reportedly dropped it and fled.

Mumbai Gold Smuggling: Customs Seize 12 Kg Gold Worth Rs 5.38 Cr, Detains 6 Persons

Mumbai Airport customs on September 11, seized 12 Kg gold worth Rs 5.38 crore in the airport. A Sudanese passenger reportedly smuggled the gold wearing a specially belt. Repeatedly, some passengers tried to facilitate his escape, but was overpowered. Furthermore, six persons have been detained in connection to the incident, and six others are being deported, as per a statement released by Customs.

Airlines Now Mandated To Share Passengers' Details To Customs Dept

1 Kg Gold Seized By Customs Officials At Jaipur International Airport: Rajasthan

In Rajasthan's Jaipur International Airport, Customs officials seized gold weighing up to one kilogram, on July 26. Reportedly, the gold is worth Rs 52,10,000 and was of 99.50% purity. The aforementioned amount of gold was seized from a passenger of a SpiceJet flight, who was returning from Dubai. Following the incident, an investigation has been initiated. NIA Files Chargesheet Against 4 In Fake Currency Seizure Case: Delhi

Chennai Air Customs Seize Ganja, Psychotropic Tablets

Authorities in Chennai intercepted a massive consignment of drugs comprising ecstasy tablets, LSD stamps and high quantity of cannabis. People have been arrested in connection with the seizure valued at Rs 58 lakhs. Based on a tip, the Air Customs officials opened a cardboard box delivered from Spain containing greeting cards. Upon opening, officials found pink colour tablets which were later identified as MDMA tablets.

₹1 Crore Worth iPhones Seized At Delhi Airport

Customs officers confiscated up to 90 iPhones with an estimated worth of Rs. 1 crore from Delhi airport's new courier terminal. The phones were mislabeled as clothes when they landed in three consignments from Dubai, according to the Air Cargo Customs (ACC) Export Commissionerate, Delhi Customs. The consignment was discovered by the officer stationed at the X-Ray scanning station. The shipment included iPhones with 12 Pro models.

1.13 Kg Gold Hidden Under Seat Track Confiscated From IndiGo Flight

During a search in an IndiGo flight from Dubai to Delhi, the Customs at IGI Airport have seized 1.13 kg gold valuing Rs 49.9 lakh on December 19. The officials have confiscated unclaimed 31 cylindrical gold rods hidden under the seat track guards. As per reports, they have seized the gold under Section 110 of the Customs Act, 1962. Besides, the Delhi custom authorities have called for further probe.
