DU Council To Take Up Issue Of Common Entrance Test For Admission To UG Courses

Academic council meeting will be held on December 10, at Delhi University (DU) to discuss whether the Common Entrance Test will take place or not. Admissions in DU is done on the basis of cutoff marks. A committee member said, "entrances should happen but the exact modalities will be decided by the academic council." The AC is likely to approve the constitution of New Education Policy in the University.

DU Cut-off list Is Out, Colleges Seek 100% Marks For Top Courses

Delhi University released the first cut-off of different colleges for undergraduate courses on October 1. Reportedly, the cut-off list would be high this year as 100% in many colleges for different top courses. Almost 70,000 students have scored more than 95% in the CBSE class 12 board examination. The admission process for the first cut-off list will be completed by October 8.

Army Pushes 'Cut-Off' To Over 80% Due To Rise In Female Applicants

The Indian Army has pushed the "Cut-off" in class 10 to over 80% for women candidates in order to meet the rising number of applications. An initiative was launched in 2019 to recruit 100 women every year. Notably, 1.6 lakh women candidates had registered in both 2019 and 2020. Considering the number of applications at present, a third batch of recruitment for women candidates were held recently.

With 18% Of Seats Vacant, DU To Announce Third Cut-off List on October 24

With 12,353 seats vacant in undergraduate courses, Delhi University (DU) may announce a third cut-off list on October 24. Earlier out of 70,000 UG seats in DU, more than 82% were filled after the second cut off list offered admissions to 22,147 students. While some courses were totally closed others saw a major decline in the required cut-off. Reportedly, due to Covid-19 spread the admission process is being conducted online.

DU Officials Suggest Cut Off for 2020 Will Go Higher

DU officials said that the 2020 Cut off maybe higher as lot of students scored above 95% in CBSE Intermediate exams. Reportedly, around 2,85,128 applications have came from CBSE students.
