Mumbai Resident Duped Of Rs 1 Lakh In Cyber Crime
In a cyber fraud, a 35-year-old fashion designer seeking an appointment for her tailor in a hospital lost Rs 1 lakh. The crime unfolded after she filled in details of a link that a fraudulent sent her after getting the cyber crook’s number on the internet. The amount was lost in 20 transactions within 19 minutes. Besides victim, a friend of the victim friend was also duped.

Part Time Job Offer Fraud, Mumbai Man Loses Rs 32.85 Lakhs
A 29-year-old resident of Ambernath got trapped in a cyber fraud and lost Rs 32.85 lakh within 12 days. The complainant had surfed the internet for part-time opportunities, where the victim was promised Rs 3,000-6,000 every day. Cyber Fraudster Dupes Pune Based Startup Of Rs 50 Lakh
In an incident of cyber fraud, a Pune-based startup company, Fintech, was duped of Rs 50 lakhs, by a fraudster organisation. Sources confirmed that the fraudster used the PAN-Card details of 95 celebrities including Madhuri Dixit, Abhishek Bachchan, and MS Dhoni. The modus operandi was to obtain PAN card details from their GST Identification Numbers available online, replaced the photo and got a credit card, duping the company.

Cyber Scam: Fraudsters Gets Credit Card On Name Of Celebrities
A bizarre case of cyber fraud was reported in Maharashtra, where a group of fraudsters allegedly procured PAN details of several Bollywood actors and cricketers and got credit cards issued in their names. The card was received from Pune-based fintech startup 'One Card'. The accused used details of Abhishek Bachchan, Shilpa Shetty, Madhuri Dixit, Emraan Hashmi and MS Dhoni to get credit card, confirmed Shahadra DCP Rohit Meena said.

1Kosmos Launches 'SIM Binding' Block-ID Platform To Control Cyber Frauds
To stop cyber fraud, startup company 1Kosmos announced the launch of "SIM binding capabilities" on its Block-ID digital platform. The new technology will help organisations to control retail online frauds in compliance with the RBI advisory, in India. Sidharth Gandhi, CEO of 1Kosmos said, "With this new capability 1Kosmos Block-ID can curb a significant number of such cases". As per NCRB data, in 2020, the cyber fraud increased to 3.7%.
