Former National Cyclist Deborah Herold Reveals Harassment By Coach RK Sharma

Former cycling athlete Deborah Herold alleged her national cycling coach RK Sharma of harassment and violence agianst her.  She said, Sharma used to slap her, ridicule and harass her for years during her course of training. The statement of Herold came after a cyclist wrote to the Sports Authority of India (SAI) alleging coach Sharma of behaving inappropriate during her stay in Slovenia, at level that she feared death.

SAI Suspends Coach Accused Of Harassing Cyclist Sexually

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) suspended RK Sharma's contract on June 8 after a top Indian women cyclist accused him of sexual harassment. SAI stated that "prima facie, the case is established and the allegations of the athlete are found to be true." The Cycling Federation of India (CFI) acknowledged the complainant and the coach in a separate statement, saying it stands "with the complainant."

Tour de France: Cyclist Egan Bernal Quits After Suffering Back Pain

Defending Champion Egan Bernal withdrew from 'Tour de France' ahead of stage 17 after suffering back pain. The 23-year-old Columbian's title defence was brought to an end, after slipping behind by eight minutes in the pace, in the first major mountain stage where he finished in 16th position. "I agree that it is the right decision for me in the circumstances," Bernal said in a team statement.
