IMD Predicts Heavy To Moderate Rainfall In Mumbai

The coastal regions of Maharashtra including Mumbai, Ratnagiri and other parts of the state are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next two days, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said on June 25.cyclonic circulation over the Gujarat's Kutch region and an active trough spread over Maharashtra to coastal Karnataka, the reasons behind the heavy downpour prediction in the region. People are advised to stay indoors.

Cyclone Biparjoy Heads To Rajasthan, IMD Alerts Heavy Rainfall

After destruction in Gujarat, Cyclone Biparjoy is headed towards Rajasthan. Landed in Gujarat's coastal region on June 15, the 'severe cyclone' Biparjoy is now making its way to Rajasthan. The IMD has issued an intense alert, following which the Congress-led Rajasthan Government has made elaborate disaster management arrangements. Meanwhile, the IMD alerted extremely heavy rainfall in Rajasthan's many regions on June 16 and 17.

Cyclone Biparjoy Intensifies, Termed As Worst In History Of India

Cyclone 'Biparjoy' is one of the worst in the history of cyclones in India. They also issued an alert for Saurashtra and Kutch in Gujarat, following which the concerned officials started shifting people in the safer zones. Cyclone Biparjoy To Intensify In Next 36 Hours: IMD

Cyclone Biparjoy is set to intensify in the next 36 hours and will be heading north-northwestwards in the next two days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a tweet on Friday. The very severe cyclonic storm was located over the east-central Arabian Sea located 840-kilometer west-southwest of Goa and 870 km west-southwest of Mumbai at 11:30 pm on June 8, the IMD said.

IMD Issues Alerts For Cyclone Mocha Likely To Intensify

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert for cyclone Mocha, which is likely to be intensified today evening from the Bay of Bengal. As per the IMD, the Cyclone will be hitting the region of West Bengal by May 14. Furthermore, We've deployed 8 teams. 200 rescuers of NDRF deployed on the ground and 100 rescuers on standby," said the NDRF Battalion. Moreover, forces are also deployed in Digha.

Cyclone Asani To Recurve, Unlikely To Cross AP, Odisha & Bengal

According to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), cyclone Asani is likely to recurve over the sea and drift away from the coast. On May 9, IMD stated that cyclone Asani will not cross Andhra Pradesh, Odisha or West Bengal. However, heavy to very heavy isolated rainfall has been predicted over the districts of North coastal Andhra Pradesh, including Vizag and Vijayawada. Cyclone Asani is situated around 500 km south of Vishakapatnam.

'Asani' Is Moving Northwestwards In Odisha, Says Meteorological Centre

According to the Meteorological Centre the cyclone storm 'Asani' is going to move northwestwards till the night of May 10. Rainfall is going to effect many places over districts of coastal Odisha, heavy rainfall can occur at districts like Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri. Weather department advised fishermen not to venture into the deep sea area over central part of Bay of Bengal on May 9-10 and Northwest parts on May 10-12.
