Dalits Converting To Islam, Christianity Will Lose Benefits: Law Minister

Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has clarified that Dalits converting into Islam or Christianity would be deprived of reservation rights. Vulnerable Tribals Were Forced To Hunger During Lockdown: RTF Survey

A Survey by Right to Food Campaign has revealed that 77% of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) compromised on food during the lockdown. RTF cited no sale of forest produce collected by PVTGs as the reason. The analysis also noted that nearly 74% of the Dalits, 54% of Adivasis and 69% of OBCs responded had consumed less food. While one in four Dalit and Muslim faced discrimination to access food.
