UFC President Dana White has increased the fight-night bonuses for athletes, from capped amount of Rs 36.5 lakh to Rs 54.7 lakh, for UFC 262 that is scheduled for May 16. The decision was a result of lightweight co-headliner Tony Ferguson's direct demand from White for a bigger paycheck at the UFC 262 press-conference. Fighters can reportedly win two bonuses - 'Fight of the Night' and 'Performance of the Night'.
Lightweight contender Tony Ferguson, at the UFC 262 press conference on May 14, slammed Michael Chandler for getting a title shot after just one fight. Ferguson, sitting next to Chandler and boss Dana White, said, "You got this... handed to you. You got Dana White privilege." Ferguson further pointed race as a determining factor for title fights, citing his 12-fight win streak but never competing for a world title.

UFC President Dana White on May 10 confirmed that Derrick Lewis is being targeted as heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou's next opponent later this summer. With the confirmation, White settled the argument if former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is next for Ngannou. Earlier, Jones was expected to fight the winner of the heavyweight title. However, Jones' demand of $30 million for the fight halted the negotiations.
Speculations about MMA veteran Nick Diaz's UFC return with a fight against Khamzat Chimaev are being made after the former was spotted at UFC 261 on April 25. While UFC President Dana White had stated, "Nick wants a fight", he also said that Diaz might be the comeback opponent for Chimaev. Diaz had last competed in the UFC in 2015, reason majorly being his spat with the company.

Clearing all speculations over the trilogy bout between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier, UFC President Dana White has stated that the fight is confirmed for UFC 264 on July 10. Moreover, the event will take place in Las Vegas' T-Mobile arena with a full capacity of 20,000 fans in attendance. McGregor, after his Twitter spat with Poirier, had confirmed to sign the agreement on April 14.
Amid ongoing spat over UFC pay-scale, former Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones has demanded his release from the UFC via Twitter on March 29. Jones released a thread of now-deleted tweets, which read "Please just cut me already" and "UFC industry has been nothing but depressing for me" among others. The latest development is a continuation of already existing discord between Jones and UFC President Dana White.

Former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson has finally secured a pay-per-view event as he will be facing Charles Oliveira at UFC 256 on December 12 in Las Vegas. Talking to ESPN's Brett Okamoto, UFC President Dana White said that Ferguson had been added to the final pay-per-view of 2020 after his wish to fight again this year. Ferguson, in his last match, suffered a loss against Justin Gaethje at UFC 249.

UFC heavyweights fighter Alistair Overeem and Alexander Volkov will clash at a headliner on February 6, 2021. The fight is likely to air on ESPN, will mainly event the UFC Fight Night on a super bowl weekend while the venue waits to be decided, said President Dana White. Overeem (41) might be on his final pursuit for a title being booked again with Volkov (32) after being cancelled in 2019.
