Daniil Medvedev Becomes ATP World No.1; Dethrones Novak Djokovic

Daniil Medvedev became the 27th player to reach the No.1 spot in ATP rankings, after dethroning Novak Djokovic, on February 28. The 26-year-old climbed to the No.1, which was held by the Serbian Djokovic for a record period of 361 weeks. "It was my goal since I was young and especially my goal in latest times," said Medvedev, who certainly left the world in shock.

Russia Defeats Croatia To Win Davis Cup After 15 Years

Russia's Daniil Medvedev defeated Croatia's Marin Cilic to win the Davis Cup in Madrid on December 6. Medvedev secured the match by 7-6 (7), 6-2 against Cilic. The win has come after 2006 when Russia won its first Davis Cup, reported PTI. ''I'm more happy for the team than for myself,'' said Medvedev. Earlier, Russia's Andrey Rublev also won against Croatia's Borna Gojo, giving Russia a lead.
