Delhi Police Book 607 People For Drinking In Public Places Last Weekend

Shockingly, Delhi police booked about 607 people for drinking in public places on June 25 and 26. Reportedly, a special drive was carried out on the said days, by order of the DCP outer district Sameer Sharma, regarding action against drinking in public places. "Drinking in public often creates nuisance and disturbs the peace and tranquility of the area," said police.

Delhi Police Asked To Tighten Security Following Release Of 'The Kashmir Files'

The DCPs of Delhi have been asked to take precautionary measures in the areas with mixed population to avoid riots following the screening of 'The Kashmir Files'. A letter from DCP (special branch) mentioned, the brutality of the movie setting, which depicts the killing of Kashmiri Pandits by Muslims. Reportedly, the movie is believed to have hurt the communal sentiments of some parts of the country.

Indore Police Seize Over 16,000 kg Of Cannabis; 5 Held

Indore police have arrested five persons for storing16,000 kg of illegal cannabis, worth Rs 50 lakh in a godown on January 5. "We got information that cannabis was being stored illegally in a godown. Our team raided the spot," Additional DCP, Guru Prasad Parashar told ANI. Earlier, on January 5, in a different case, two people were arrested for trafficking Rs 3.15 cannabis in Indore. However, further investigation is underway.

Maharashtra Home Minister Orders Probe As Pune DCP Demands Free Biryani

DCP Priyanka Narnavare of Pune has allegedly ordered her subordinates to buy her chicken biryani free of cost saying, ''Why give money? Should we pay in our jurisdiction?'' However, after the audio recording went viral, Maharashtra's Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil ordered the police commissioner to ''probe'' and ''submit the report''. Meanwhile, Narnavare told that the clip was a ''conspiracy''  to get her transferred.
