Death Threats

The Pune Crime Branch arrested an individual identified as Prashant Patil, a native of Kolhapur, for allegedly issuing death threats to political leader Chaggan Bhujpal. The audio clips of the threats are viral, based on which he's arrested. Notably, Bhujpal is amongst rebel National Congress Party (NCP) leaders who joined the BJP with Ajit Pawar. He is also one of the leaders who were inducted into the BJP-led Maharashtra Cabinet.

MP Sanjay Raut has received death threats, stated MLA and his brother Sunil Raut. He said that he and Sanjay Raut have been receiveing threat calls since June 8. This comes after reports of Sharad Pawar receiving death threats came to the fore, confirmed the National Congress Party. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has received a death threat on the UP Police's emergency WhatsApp dial number 112. The police said the message, received on April 29 from an unknown sender, read that the CM has "only four days left". Meanwhile, the police have constituted a special surveillance team to track the source of the messages and arrest the sender. Notably, the CM is backed with 'Z+' VVIP security.
