The Thane Congress unit on August 14 visited the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) run Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj hospital in Kalwa after the death of 27 patients in a span of just four days. The Thane city Congress office bearers along with MP Kumar Ketkar went to the hospital on Monday and questioned the superintendent of the hospital Aniruddha Malgaonkar about 27 deaths in four days.

In Uttarakhand, a massive landslide happened amid heavy rains, resulting in death of seven people and leaving four injured. In Pakistan's flood situation, at least 36 people, including seven children and five women, were killed and 145 others injured, after heavy monsoon rain.The deaths and injuries were confirmed by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in the past 24 hours, on August 21. Five people died, and several others left injured in a tragic bus accident.  Notably, a bus lost control and mowed down bystanders in Kanpur on January 30. The electric bus has also destroyed three cars and many bikes. The bus driver is absconding, and is being traced, said the Kanpur DCP. Furthermore, he informed that injured have been shifted to hospital while the investigation into the case has been started.
