Singapore Sue Woman For Leaving Him 'Friendzone'
Singapore man sues female colleague for leaving him 'friendzone.' In a bizarre incident, K Kawshigan proposed to his female friend whom he met and talked to since 2016. However, her refusal shook the man, following which he sued the woman Nora Tan for $3 million (approx. Rs 24 crores.) He said the refusal damaged his stellar reputation and caused trauma, depression, and impacts on his life.

Donald Trump Files Defamation Lawsuit Against CNN
Former United States (US) President Donald J Trump has sued media networks, CNN. The lawsuit was filed in a federal court in Southern Florida, on October 4. In his lawsuit, Trump claimed that CNN is using its influence with viewers to defame Donald Trump politically, by spreading false allegations. Notably, CNN associated Trump with Adolf Hitler, and portrayed him as a Russian racist.

Delhi HC Issues Interim Order In Favour Of Lt Governor Saxena In Defamation Case
The Delhi High Court (HC) issued notice and passed an interim order in favour of Delhi Lt. General Vinay Kumar Saxena, regarding a defamation case, filed against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs. Notably, AAP leaders accused Saxena of illegal corrupt activities in Delhi. However, Delhi Lt. General denied the allegations and filed an interim injunction against AAP leaders, asking them to restrain from levelling baseless allegations.

Johnny Depp Challenges $2 Million In Damages Given To Ex-Wife Amber Heard
Johnny Depp has filed an appeal against the $2 million defamation judgment handed out by a Virginia jury in June to his ex-wife Amber Heard. Johnny's appeal is a reaction to Amber's July 21 appeal, and it is an attempt to recoup the $2 million judgment that a Virginia jury handed Amber in her $100 million countersuit against Johnny and his 2019 $50 million case.

Court Rejects Amber Heard's Request For New Trial In Defamation Case Against Johnny Depp
Amber Heard's request for a fresh trial in her defamation lawsuit with ex-husband Johnny Depp was denied by court on July 13 after her attorneys argued that one of the jurors had served inappropriately. After a jury determined that Heard had defamed Depp in a newspaper opinion article, Heard was forced to pay Depp $10.35 million in damages. A judge said "no evidence of fraud or wrongdoing" by the juror.

Mumbai Court Issues Bailable Warrant Against Shiv Sena Leader Sanjay Raut
Mumbai court issued a bailable warrant against Shiv Sena Spokesperson Sanjay Raut. On July 4, the court issued summoned Sanjay Raut in a defamation case filed by Kirit Somaiya's wife Medha Somaiya, who alleged that Raut linked their names in a Rs 100 crore scam, without any evidence, baselessly. In regard to this, Sanjay was asked to appear before Sewree magistrate, and when he didn't appear, issued the warrant.
