Rajnath Singh Paid Homage To Kargil War Jawans On 24th Anniversary
Defence Minister of India Rajnath Singh laid the wreath, remembering jawans on the 24th anniversary of Kargil Vijaya Diwas. According to sources, on July 26, Singh arrived in the district of Ladakh and paid homage to the fallen soldiers, who sacrificed their lives in the 1999 Kargil War between India and Pakistan. Besides Rajnath Singh, Army Chief General Monoj Pande also paid floral tribute to the jawans.

KTR Calls On Defence Minister Seeking Land In Hyderabad
Telangana minister K T Rama Rao called on Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and sought the transfer of defence land in Hyderabad. On June 23, KTR asked for the construction of elevated skyways, corridors and link roads to ease traffic congestion. In an official statement, KTR said, "We have sought defence land for four major development works in Hyderabad. We are hopeful that the defence minister will accept our demand,"

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh To Visit Nigeria For 3-Days
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be on a three-day official visit to Nigeria from May 28 to May 30, During the visit, he will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the West African nation’s next President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and hold talks with Nigerian officials. Mongolian President Khurelsukh Gifts Horse To Defence Minister Rajnath Singh
Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh gifted a horse to Indian defence minister Rajnath Singh, on September 6. Singh called on Khurelsukh to review and strengthen bilateral ties between the nations. Singh thanked Khurelsukh over the kind gesture, and named the horse “Tejas”. Singh then posted a photo of the horse on Twitter, and also said that the meeting went well.

At the launch of two frontline warships of the Indian Navy - 'Surat' and 'Udaygiri', at MDL in Mumbai, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that strong Naval power is necessary to achieve global power. Defence Secretary Rajnath Singh has said that the 1971 War was the finest example of the whole-of-government approach. In his address at the PC Lal Memorial Lecture in Delhi, he stressed, "The 1971 war is the finest example of the whole-of-government approach, not only for the armed forces, but also for national security." Air Force Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari was also in attendance at the PC Memorial Lecture.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh In Hawaii, Will Visit Indo-Pacific Command
Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has touched down in Hawaii. Upon his arrival, Singh shared on Twitter that he would be visiting the headquarters of the US Army Pacific, the Pacific Air Forces and the US Indo-Pacific Command. He was accorded a warm welcome by Commander (US INDOPACOM) Admiral John Aquilino. The Indian military and the USINDOPACOM have a number of engagements, which include training and joint military exercises.

Rajnath Singh Launches Space Science & Technology Centre: Chandigarh
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the Kalpana Chawla Centre for Research in Space Science and Technolgy in Chandigarh University, on January 3. Reportedly, it will help to train students who are interested in space science and satellite development. Meanwhile, Singh said that India so far sent 342 satellites in space for 34 countries. He added that the ISRO also earned Rs 5,600 crore by launching missions over three years.

France Ready To Sell More Rafale Jets If India Needs, Says Florence Parly
Defence Minister of France, Florence Parly, on December 17, said that if India demands more Rafale jets, "we're ready to supply more". She further stated that the 36 aircrafts will be delivered on time. ''I'm very happy that the Indian Air Force is satisfied with Rafale,'' said Parly. Reportedly, India signed a deal to purchase 36 Rafales jets in 2016 for a price of Rs 59,000 crore.

French Defence Minister Florence Parly To Visit Delhi
Florence Parly, Defence Minister of France, is set to arrive at Delhi on December 17.
