AirAsia Deploys Taxibot At Bangalore Airport After Successful Trials

AirAsia India has deployed taxibot at Bengaluru airport, which helps a plane to move from the parking spot to the runway, without running the engines. Earlier AirAsia used taxibot at Delhi airport to tow two modified A320 planes. AirAsia has reportedly tied up with KSU Aviation, which is the exclusive taxibot operator in India. Taxibot is a semi-robotic towbarless aircraft movement equipment.

US-Bound Air India Flight Makes Emergency Landing At Delhi Airport

Owing to a medical emergency on board, an Air India flight, AI-105, returned to Delhi airport after three hours of flight on December 4, which was scheduled to land in USA's Newark. Reportedly, a man, travelling with his wife, fell ill on the plane. He was declared dead by doctors at the airport after a thorough check, reported ANI. The flight was resumed at around 4:00 PM.

Air India Plane Stuck Under Bridge Near Delhi, Video Goes Viral

Following an Air India Plane that got stuck under the foot overbridge at Delhi-Gurugram highway, a 40-second viral video of the incident has left the netizens amused on social media. However, the company has released an official statement claiming the airline has no connection with the incident. Reportedly, It was sold to a scrap dealer and the new owner was transporting it when it got stuck under the bridge.

Two Afghan Nationals Arrested For Smuggling Heroin Into India

In an attempt to smuggle heroin worth Rs 53 crore into India, two Afghan nationals have been arrested by the customs authorities at the Delhi International Airport. The accused were flying Tehran via Dubai. The drugs were concealed in the “black color liquid in shampoo/hair coloring bottles.” The drugs weighed 7.62 kg in total. "During the interrogation, the passengers accepted their guilt," a statement notified.

₹1 Crore Worth iPhones Seized At Delhi Airport

Customs officers confiscated up to 90 iPhones with an estimated worth of Rs. 1 crore from Delhi airport's new courier terminal. The phones were mislabeled as clothes when they landed in three consignments from Dubai, according to the Air Cargo Customs (ACC) Export Commissionerate, Delhi Customs. The consignment was discovered by the officer stationed at the X-Ray scanning station. The shipment included iPhones with 12 Pro models.

Delhi: Customs Officials Nab Smugglers At Airport, Heroin Worth Rs 7.5 Cr Seized

Heroin weighing 18 kgs worth Rs 7.5  crores have been seized by the Customs officials at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on July 1. The shipment was hidden in a parcel containing bangles and was being smuggled from Africa to an address in Delhi. Besides, last week, officials at Delhi airport had arrested two South Africans smuggling Rs 126 crores of heroin to Delhi, who were part of a syndicate.

Delhi Airport To Stop Operations At T2 Terminal From May 17 Midnight

Due to substantial decrease in number of flights amid the pandemic, the Delhi International airport has decided to close its T2 terminal from May 17 midnight. The airport officials stated that it will be managing all flights from the T3 terminal only. The decision came after India and its aviation department experienced a worse second wave of COVID -19. Currently, the airport is managing around 325 flights everyday.

1.13 Kg Gold Hidden Under Seat Track Confiscated From IndiGo Flight

During a search in an IndiGo flight from Dubai to Delhi, the Customs at IGI Airport have seized 1.13 kg gold valuing Rs 49.9 lakh on December 19. The officials have confiscated unclaimed 31 cylindrical gold rods hidden under the seat track guards. As per reports, they have seized the gold under Section 110 of the Customs Act, 1962. Besides, the Delhi custom authorities have called for further probe.
