Senior Congress Leader AK Walia Passes Away At 72 Due To COVID-19

Veteran Congress leader AK Walia passed away at 72 on April 22 due to COVID-19. The former Delhi government minister died at the city's Apollo Hospital. Walia, who represented the Laxmi Nagar constituency in the Delhi Assembly for four terms, was admitted to the hospital a few days ago after testing positive for coronavirus. Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia also expressed his grief over Walia's death.

Delhi Cong Asks To Make Rahul Gandhi Party President; Passes Resolution

Stating that the party needs a dynamic and powerful leader, the Delhi Congress on January 31 passed a resolution to make Rahul Gandhi the party chief with immediate effect. Congress' unit chief Anil Kumar mentioned in the resolution that party needs Rahul to counter the undemocratic forces amid the dangerous political situation in the country. The move came days after the party announced to elect a new chief in June 2020.
