Delhi Govt Directs Business Establishments To Pay Amid G20 Summit Shutdown
Delhi government has directed shops, businesses and commercial establishments in the New Delhi district to grant paid holiday to their employees and workers during the G20 summit, scheduled between September 8 and 10. Preparations are underway in a massive scale for the G20 Summit, for which top leaders of member countries of the grouping, including US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping are expected to visit India.

Entities May Face Penalty Upto Rs 250 Crores For Misusing Personal Data
Entities misusing or failing to protect digital data users may face penalty of up to Rs 250 crore under the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill 2023. The bill was laid down the obligations of entities handling and processing data as well as the rights of individuals. The bill which was introduced in Parliament today moots the creation of the Data Protection Board of India and provides protection to the Centre.

SC Issues Notice To Centre Amid Plea Challenging Ordinance
In a relief to the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi Government, the Supreme Court issued a notice to the Central Government. On July 10, the Apex Court reviewed the plea against the ordinance passed seeking control of services by the Delhi Government. In the notice, the SC bench asked the Central Government led by the BJP to file a reply, explaining their stand on the ordinance in Delhi.

Delhi Govt To Implement 'Food Truck Policy' Soon, CM Gives Approval
The Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi Government is going to launch a 'Food Truck Policy' soon in the national capital. On June 13, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal gave in-principal approval to the policy, which was introduced in the Assembly, under the "Rozgar Budget 2022". With this, Delhi streets will also see food truck hubs like New York, Australia and UK. The food truck will boost the nightlife and the economy.

BJP leaders urged Twitter CEO Elon Musk to suspend the Twitter handle of Manish Sisodia, the former Deputy CM of Delhi. Thousands of ola, rapido and uber bike drivers questioned the recent ban on taxi bikes citing violation of Motor Vehicle Act, 1988. A rapid driver said, "How govt can ban it if it is feeding more than 20k families?" He further said, "If they are really concerned about the laws and morality, why don't they impose a ban on the sale of alcohol as it can kill the consumer."

Delhi Govt Collects Rs 1 Crore Fine From COVID-19 Violators
The Delhi Government collected a fine of Rs 1,00,15,300 fine from COVID-19 norms violators. The huge fine was collected on January 2, in a total of 5,066 cases including 735 from North Delhi and 647 from Central Delhi. The updated information was confirmed by a bulletin, released by the Delhi Government. In addition, the COVID-19 and Omicron situation is worsening with the highest cases in Delhi.
