Delhi Jal Board Askes Haryana To Assist With Delhi's Water Shortage
Vice-Chairman of Delhi Jal Board, Saurabh Bharadwaj, has voiced grave concern over the river Yamuna's dwindling water levels and requested Haryana government to release Delhi's share of the river's water to help manage Delhi's water problem. Water Supply To Remain Hit In Parts Of Delhi; Here Are Areas Affected
Water supply in parts of Delhi will remain hit, on June 10, reported Delhi Jal Board (DJB). DJB cited Haryana releasing less water in the Yamuna river. Haryana supplies a total of 610 million gallons of water to Delhi in a day using two canals. Delhi requires 1,200 MGD water, while DJB supplies 950 MGD. Water in North, West, South, Northeast and Central Delhi, will be available at low pressure.

Delhi Jal Board To Cut Water Supply In Several Areas Next Week
The Delhi Jal Board on December 25 announced that water supply won't be available in several areas due to the annual flushing of underground reservoirs and pumping stations on December 27. Furthermore, it urged people to stock water as per their needs to avoid any inconvenience. The areas include Mayur Vihar Phase II, Akbar Road, Sarojini Nagar, Ashoka Hotel, Shanti Path, Safdarjung, and Race Course.

SC Hands Notice To Haryana Govt Over Excess Ammonia Release In Yamuna
The Supreme Court on January 13 issued a notice to Haryana Government over the pollution in the Yamuna River. Reportedly, the notice was issued after taking suo-moto cognizance of the Delhi Jal Board that alleged Haryana over releasing high ammonia polluted water. Besides, the SC bench has ordered Haryana to release the status of sewage treatment plants in Haryana. The 3-judge bench led by CJI Bobde scheduled the next hearing to January 19.… read-more
