Delhi University To Provide 12-Day Online Orientation Session For CUET Students

Delhi University announced a 12-day online orientation-cum-guidance program for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2022, mainly for SC/ST candidates. Delhi HC Issues Notice To St Stephen's College Over Unreserved Category Admissions

Despite Delhi University's caution, the Delhi High Court issued notice on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) contesting St Stephen's College's proposal to hold an interview round for admittance to the unreserved section for the academic year 2022-23. A law student, Konika Poddar, filed the petition. The court has given the University Grant Commission, St. Stephen's College, and Delhi University (DU) four weeks to file their responses.

St Stephens College Announces 15% Interview Weightage For Admissions

St Stephen's College announced to give the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 85% weightage and 15% weightage to interviews for the admission process. Ratan Lal, DU Professor, Detained In Connection With Gyanvapi Mosque Post, Given Bail

Delhi court issued bail to Delhi University professor Ratan Lal on May 21, who was detained on May 20 over a social media post purportedly designed to offend religious beliefs following the alleged discovery of 'Shivling' within the Gyanvapi Mosque complex in Varanasi. He was charged under Indian Penal Code Sections 153A and 295A. On May 21, Left-affiliated All India Students Association protested the arrest outside DU's Arts Faculty.

DU Council To Take Up Issue Of Common Entrance Test For Admission To UG Courses

Academic council meeting will be held on December 10, at Delhi University (DU) to discuss whether the Common Entrance Test will take place or not. Admissions in DU is done on the basis of cutoff marks. A committee member said, "entrances should happen but the exact modalities will be decided by the academic council." The AC is likely to approve the constitution of New Education Policy in the University.

Over 52,000 Students Get Admission In Delhi University

Delhi University has reportedly provided admissions to more than 52,000 students till now. As per sources, more than 10,000 applications have been approved by the principal on October 20. However, the cut-off of popular courses remained high, and the last date to apply for the third cut-off list is October 21. Furthermore, DU has received a total of 1,61,024 applications under three lists this year.

B.Sc Student From Delhi University Becomes 'British High Commissioner For A Day'

Aditi Maheshwari of Rajasthan's Chittorgarh has been named as the "High Commissioner for a Day", which is a contest hosted every year by the High Commission. The competition took place on October 11 in honor of International-Day-of-Girl-Child and was for young girls aged between 18 to 23. Reportedly, as the High Commissioner, Maheshwari attended meetings with top ambassadors and learned about professional duties.

DU Cut-off list Is Out, Colleges Seek 100% Marks For Top Courses

Delhi University released the first cut-off of different colleges for undergraduate courses on October 1. Reportedly, the cut-off list would be high this year as 100% in many colleges for different top courses. Almost 70,000 students have scored more than 95% in the CBSE class 12 board examination. The admission process for the first cut-off list will be completed by October 8.

Delhi University Admissions 2021; Higher Cutoffs Expected

Miranda House principal Dr Bijaylaxmi Nanda in a conversation with the media stated that "We won't have 100 per cent cut-offs. The cut-offs will be slightly calibrated than last time. The cut-offs will be close to 100 but we will be realistic with them." Besides, most colleges are expecting a higher cutoff than ever as the no of students scoring 95%+ rose drastically this year. The First cut off is expected to be released on October 1.
