Centre Claims Low Cases Of Delta Plus Variant, But A "Variant Of Concern"

With over 40 cases of Delta Plus variant across different states in India, it has been tagged as a "variant of concern" by the Centre. According to the government, although there is "no significant increase" in the low number of cases, delta plus is highly infectious and fast-spreading. Experts say that the variant may resist existing COVID-19 treatment as it has increased transmissibility along with many advanced features.
