India Ranks Lowest In Environment Performance Index 2022

India was the lowest among 180 countries in the 2022 Environment Performance Index (EPI.) On June  7, researchers of Yale and Columbia University provided a data-driven summary of the state of sustainability around the world, confirming India is the lowest on the list with an 18.9 score. The EPI ranks 180 countries on 40 performance indicators including climate change, environmental public health, biodiversity, and 18 categories.

Denmark Defeats Austria, Making It Two Wins In Row In UEFA Nations League

Denmark defeated Austria 2-1 in the UEFA Nations League in Austria on June 6, making it two wins in a row. With six minutes remaining, Jens Stryger curled a long-range shot past Patrick Pentz to put Denmark three points ahead of their opponents at the top of Group A1. Denmark has won 12 of its previous 15 international games while losing the other three.

Indian Men's Badminton Team Enters Thomas Cup Finals: Assured For Silver

India has entered the finals of the Thomas Cup for the first time in its history. On May 13, the team won the tournament and created history after securing a position after 73 years.  Indian Men's Badminton Team triumphed over Denmark in a hard-fought semi-final. India is now assured of Silver and will play against Indonesia in semi finals. The Thomas Cup 2022 is a major victory for India.

Indian Prime Minister Officially Visits To Denmark, Meets Denmark Queen

PM Narendra Modi met Denmark's Queen Margrethe II and the Crown Prince Couple where Queen hosted a dinner in Christian VII'S Palace at Amalienborg. It was the first time in 20 years that the Indian PM made an official visit to Denmark. PM Modi also his Danish Counterpart Mette Frederiksen in the Danish capital. According to the Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra, two leaders held talks in a one-on-one format.

PM Modi is all set to visit Denmark, after spending a day in Germany, during his  three-nation Europe trip. Notably, PM Modi started his international visit from Berlin on May 2, and held bilateral talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

India Ranks 85 In Transparency International’s Corruption Index, Best In South Asia

India ranked at 85 among 180 countries in its Corruption Perception Index report(CPI), of 2021. According to Transparency International Reports, India's rank improved by one place to 85 in 2021 from 86th in 2020. However, it raised concern over the country's democratic status. In what could be called as a breath-taking attempt, Denmark's Stig Severinson has set a Guinness World Record by swimming 662 feet and 8.7 inches in a single breath. Stig swam into the La Paz in Mexico and created the new feat by holding his breath for 2 minute and 42 seconds.
