Police Recovers Personal Diary Of Accused, Says He Was Depressed: J&K DGP Hemant Lohia Murder Case
The Jammu & Kashmir Police recovered a personal diary of domestic helper, who is alleged of the murder of Director General of Prison (DGP) Hemant Lohia. As per police, the suspected murderer Yasir Ahmed (23) was said to be depressed mind fixated on death. His diary is filled of notes, songs and quotes, indicating his depressed mind with an intent of death. A case has been registered and investigation underway.

Depression Kills Mother-Son Duo In West Bengal, :Police Registers Case
In West Bengal's Nadia district, two bodies, one of a 34-year-old man Subhadip Mandal and his mother Anju Mandal (65) were found hanging. The suspicious dead bodies were found at their home in Kalyani's B-10 area on September 13, confirmed police on the next day. Notably, after inspecting the area, the police found a suicide note stating no one is responsible for the death. Police launched an investigation

Delhi Man Depressed Due To Unemployment, Writes 77-Page Note, Kills Mother & Dies By Suicide
Kshitij, a 25-year-old Delhi man, allegedly murdered his mother and used a deodorant spray to suppress the smell of her decomposing body. Reportedly, he had strangled her and cut her throat. Three days after the incident, Kshitij took his own life. A 77-page suicide note has been recovered, which revealed that Kshitij was going through depression due to unemployment. Also, he wanted to “set his mother free”, read the note.

Man Jumps In Front Of Metro In Delhi’s Tilak Nagar, Dies
A man in Delhi’s Tilak’s Nagar has died by way of suicide, as he jumped in front of a metro train, and gave his life. Initially, he was rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital as he sustained serious injuries. However, he was declared dead in the hospital. Reportedly, the man has been identified as Satish Malhotra, a 65-year-old resident of Ashok Nagar, who ran a spare parts shop.

Kolkata Model Cum Actress Dies Of Suicide Amid Depression
Depressed over less work, another model cum actress Manjushree Niyogi died of suicide in Kolkata, on night of May 26. The family of the deceased said, "she didn’t have much work in hand and also after her friend Bidisha died she said that she will also commit suicide and yesterday she did what she said by hanging herself." Notably, this is Niyogi's second suicide attempt in the past one-year.

Mother & 2 Daughters Found Dead, Police Suspect Suicide Due To Depression: Delhi
Bodies of a mother and her two daughters have been found at a flat in Delhi's Vasant Vihar, on May 21. After seeing all the doors and windows having been locked from the inside, police suspect a case of suicide. Also, a 'smoke chamber' (Angithi) was found, which is suspected to have caused them suffocation. Kamla (house-help), said that after the death of their father, they've been in depression.

Regularly exercising can primarily reduce the effects of long COVID-induced Diabetes & Depression, revealed a study. Exercises can be used to "break the chain reaction of inflammation that leads to high blood sugar levels, and then to the development or progression of type 2 diabetes,'' stated a researcher. In a study, researchers from the University of Illinois, United States of America, have found biomarkers that can help to track depression in platelets. ''A cellular biomarker is responsible for the translocation of Gs alpha from lipid rafts. The biomarker can be identified through a blood test," told Mark Rasenick, head of the team.
