PM Narendra Modi arrived in Karnataka to launch the most awaited Shivamogga Airport. On February 27, Modi inaugurated Shivamogga Airport in a boost to connectivity and accessibility of the Karnataka city and other neighbouring areas in the Malnad region. The Central Government approved the pending cable-cum iconic bridge over the Krishna River, between the two states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. On October 13, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the same on Twitter, saying the Central Government will approve Rs 1,082.56 crore for the construction, which will be finished in a duration of a period of 30 months, which wil be second largest bridge in India.
