Gujarat DGP Ashish Bhatia's Tenure Extended By 8 months Beyond Superannuation Period
Senior IPS officer and Gujarat's Director General of Police (DGP) Ashish Bhatia has been given an extension in service for another eight months. The extension will apply beyond the date of superannuation. The decision to extend his tenure has been taken by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, chaired by PM Modi. Notably, Bhatia has been credited for playing a key role in solving a 2008 Ahmedabad serial case.

Transgenders Protest In Hyderabad, Demand Seperate Category In Website For TSLPRB Jobs

Karnataka DGP Dr P Ravindranath Submits Resignation; Says, 'Was Harassed'

Viresh Kumar Bhawra Becomes New DGP Of Punjab
Punjab government under the leadership of Charanjit Singh Channi has decided to appoint Senior IPS officer Viresh Kumar Bhawra as the new director general of police of Punjab. Bhawra is an IPS officer of the 1987 batch, reported PTI. He will hold the office for two years from the date of assumption, as per the government's order. He will replace the current DGP Siddharth Chattopadhyaya.

Punjab Govt Appoints Siddharth Chattopadhyaya As New DGP
Siddharth Chattopadhyaya, the Vigilance Bureau Chief, has been appointed as the new Director-General of Police (DGP) in Punjab, on December 17. He replaced IPS Iqbal Preet Sahota. "In place of Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota, IPS (PB:1988,) Special DGP Armed Ben, Jalandhar, Siddharth Chattopadhyaya, IPS (PB:1986) DGP PSPCL Patiala shall look after the work of DGP of Punjab," read the notice of the Department of Home Affairs and Justice.

Former DGP Initiates Online Science Programmes For School Students
Leading the physics experiments using fun elements, a 67-year old retired Director General of Police Anoop Jaiswal commenced free online science programmes for students. Considering the online programmes, DGP commented, "I would address 250 to 300 students, a mixed group spread across standards VI-XII." However, Jaiswal uses scientific toys, old cutlery, broken tubes, and empty bottles in his experiments.

Bihar: Former DGP Gupteshwar Pandey Confident To Win From Any Constituency
Former DGP of Bihar, Gupteshwar Pandey, on September 23 stated that he could win from any constituency in Bihar. The former cop said that he has been offered 14 constituencies to contest. While slamming Congress and Shiv Sena, Pandey said, "Anyone can take VRS after 30 years in service and do whatever he feels like doing. I have decided to serve people." Earlier, Pandey took VRS on September 22.
