Actor Dhanush and his wife Aishwaryaa Rajnikanth have parted ways as a couple after 18 years of togetherness. Taking to Twitter Dhanush announced the news and wrote, "The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate." Aishwaryaa is the elder daughter of superstar Rajnikanth. On November 18, 2004, the duo got married and have two children.

Much-awaited movie Jagame Thandhiram, starring Dhanush and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, is set to have a Netflix release on June 18. Set in London, the movie shows Dhanush as a nomadic gangster. Originally slated to release in 2020, the movie was postponed due to COVID-19. Reportedly, after a wait of over nine months, the OTT release rights of the movie were sold off to Netflix.

Ten Indian movies have made it to the Best Foreign Film category for the 2021 Golden Globe Awards. Interestingly, three of the movies belong to the southern India - actor Dhanush starrer Asuran and Suriya's Soorarai Pottru from Tamil cinema; and Oscar nominee Jallikattu from Malayalam cinema. Abhay Deol slammed his own film 'Raanjhana' on Instagram by accusing the film for promoting sexual harassment. Re-posting as an unbiased personal blogger Abhay pointed out several "insights" from the film and wrote, "History will not look kindly at this film for its regressive message." The actor is being slammed for his "after the fact" insights, while others are appreciating Abhay Deol's honesty.
