Diamond Jewellery Worth Rs 2 Cr Stolen From Hotel Room: Jaipur

Diamond jewellery worth Rs 2 crore was stolen from a hotel room on November 26 while the family was attending a wedding at night in Jaipur. According to the police, the family alleged the hotel's collusion in the heft. Furthermore, they raised questions on why no action has been taken against the hotel. However, the police is looking into the matter and the investigation is underway.

World’s Largest Sapphire Cluster Worth $100 Mn Found in Sri Lanka

A massive sapphire cluster rock was discovered in Ratnapura, Sri Lanka, and is believed to be worth as much as $100 million in the international market. The person who identified himself as Gamage, a third-generation gem trader found the stone in his property while digging his backyard. The gemstone is believed to be 2.5 million carats which makes it the largest gemstone ever discovered.

World's Rare Red Diamond Ring Sold For $2.77 Million In Auction

World's rare red-diamond studded ring was sold in an auction for $2.77 million in an auction. Interestingly, the piece was bought by Dubai-based Tiara Gems and Jewellery run by an Indian emigrant Ashish Vijay Jain. The 1.05-carat diamond with a VS2 clarity was sold for the whopping value due to its unique colour. Calling it as an "investment opportunity", Ashish said, "There will always be interest for rare stones."

Lucky Labourers Discover Diamonds Worth Lakhs Of Rupees In Mines

Fortune hit two labourers from MP's Panna district as they discover two diamonds: one of 7.44 carat and second of 14.98 carat. The diamonds, discovered by Dilip Mistry and Lakhan Yadav respectively, are supposed to fetch hefty amounts. Reportedly, the 7.44 carat diamond may secure about Rs 30 lakh while the 14.98 carat can bag over Rs 60 lakh. The labourers will get all the auction amount after a deduction of 12.5% royalty.

Russia: Alrosa Discovers Largest Natural Color Diamond

Alrosa, the world's leading diamond producer has discovered a 236-carat rough diamond of deep amber colour, on August 7. The intense yellow-brown colour diamond, which was extracted from the Ebelyakh mine of Russia's Yakutia, is believed to be 120-230 years old. ''This is the largest natural color rough diamond ever found in Russia,” said Alrosa.
