17 Year Old AP Girls Becomes Inspiration, Turns Disability Into Strength

A 17-year-old native of Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh Anitha Bai, made headlines for her not giving up attitude and inspiration story. Born with no hands, a physical disability, Anitha wrote her exam papers of intermediate second year with her feet and became an inspiration of "where there is will, there is a way." Even though rules permitted Anitha to use a writer, she chose to write the exam on her own.

Mumbai Girl Designs Adaptive Clothes For Seniors, Disabled

Rainna Goel, a 15-year-old student from Mumbai's Jamnabai Narsee International School has designed a clothing line for people with impairments called "Cur8ability", a mix of fashion and philanthropy. All the clothes will have imprinted magnetic or velcros buttons. Former Para Officer To Lead The Largest Team With Disabilities On Siachen trek

Former Para officer Major Vivek Jacob will lead a team of eight, consisting of ex-servicemen and civilians, to the highest battlefield, the Siachen Glacier. The trek is scheduled for May and it will be their first attempt, aiming to set a world record. The team will look forward to achieving the feat despite the disability.

Odisha Revises Cash Incentive For PwD Marriages; To Pay Rs 2.5 Lakh

To encourage the marriages of differently-abled people, the Odisha government has revised the cash incentives from Rs 50,000 to Rs 2,50,000. Besides, the Social Security and Empowerment of PwD Department has revised the guides for facilitating such marriages. For eligibility, both the residents should be from Odisha, and the wedding should be dowry free. Moreover, the incentive will be provided if one of the spouses is disabled.
