Himachal Pradesh Havoc Amid Rainfall Continues, 74 Dead, Property Worth 10,000 Crore Washed Away

Himachal Pradesh is facing the worst kind of natural disaster in decades, killing more than 72 people, and property damage worth Rs 10,000 crores. The heavy downpours and landslides in the regions of Himachal Pradesh in the past three days are expected to make it difficult for the rescue search, underway in Shimla. Furthermore, the IMD has issued a rainfall alert for the state on August 23-24, advising people to be cautious.

Himachal Pradesh: 1 Killed, 3 Injured In Cloud Burst

Amid the bad weather and rainfall alert in the northeastern states, a tragic incident of cloud burst killed one person. Getting into the details, in Himachal Pradesh's Kayas village, cloud busted leading to injuries to three people and killing one. The deceased was identified as Badal Sharma, whereas the injured person was Khemchand, Suresh Sharma and Kapil. The disaster management started rescue operation and blocked the road for people.

Delhi Floods: Yamuna River Water Level Decreases With 207 Mark

The flood-like situation in Delhi is under control as the Yamuna River water level is below 208, watermark. On July 15, the Delhi Government said, the situation is better in the low-lying region and restoration work to tackle the damage done by heavy to very heavy rainfall in the past few days. Delhi Public Work Minister Atishi said a day's time would be needed to return to normal.

Cyclone Biparjoy Make Land In Gujarat, 300 Electricity Poles In Morbi

Fire Breaks Out At Business Park In Thane

In Thane, a major fire broke out at Orion Business Park adjacent to Cine Wonder Mall.  The incident occurred at around 8:30 pm, on April 18. The efforts by Balkum Fire Station firemen are still underway to douse out the fire. Moreover, the authority confirmed that no casualties have been reported from the spot. Avinash Sawant, regional disaster management cell (RDMC) chief is supervising the operation.

1 Died, 5 Stranded While On Uttarakhand-Chitkul Trek, Rescue Operation Underway

The Uttarakhand Disaster Management authority confirmed a trekker's death, and five were stranded, including three porters in the Chitkul region, on September 4.  The six people went for a trek from Khimloga Pass, when they went missing, following which the disaster management ordered a rescue operation. Notably, three porters, two trekkers are stuck and are likely to be rescued by the concerned official soon.

Landslide In Himachal Pradesh Kills Woman, Child, 2 Injured

In Himachal Pradesh's Chamba, a woman and her child died and two others were severely injured in a landslide incident on August 17, confirmed disaster management officials. The landslide occurred above Hadsar in Chamba district in the evening.  Furthermore, the injured have been admitted to Bharmour hospital. This is a developing story, more details are awaited.

Israeli Trekker Who Went Missing, Found

Senior disaster management confirmed a missing report of an Israeli trekker Ran at Hampta Pass Trek between Kullu and Lahaul-Spiti districts, Himachal Pradesh. However, in 24 hours June 13, the disaster Management Director Sudesh Mokhta said, the trekker has been traced and he is staying in a camp, Kullu.  Notably, two Israeli trekkers went missing on June 12 night, while one Yuvan Cohan came back, Ran was missing until afternoon.

10 Dead In Last 24 Hour Due To Heavy Rain: Himachal Pradesh

The Himachal Pradesh Disaster Management Authority (HPDMA) said heavy rainfall in the state claimed 10 lives in the past 24 hours on September 23. The rain also caused road accidents and damaged 16 houses, roads, nine cow sheds. Reportedly, the natural disaster has caused a loss of Rs 1,108 crore so far. Moreover, as many as 432 people also died due to the rainfall in the last 130 days.
