SC Dismisses Telecom Giants' Plea On AGR Dues Re-computation

A plea filed by telecom majors like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea, and Tata Teleservices for correcting arithmetical errors in their Adjusted Gross Revenues (AGR) dues has been dismissed by the Supreme Court on July 23. In September 2020, the companies were allowed 10 years to pay their pending dues worth Rs 93,520 crore. Reportedly, Bharti Airtel owed Rs 43,000 crore, while Vodafone Idea owed over Rs 50,000 crore.

11 J&K Govt Employees Sacked For Terror Links

According to the officials, as many as 11 employees of the Jammu and Kashmir administration have been sacked on July 10 for their alleged involvement with terrorist organisations. Reportedly, four of the dismissed employees were working in the education department, two worked in the state police, and one each from other departments. Notably, no inquiry is being held as they are dismissed under Article 311 of the Indian Constitution.
