Astana Open: Sharan and Bopanna Out Before Men's Doubles Semi-Finals

India’s campaign in the men’s doubles ended as Divij Sharan and Rohan Bopanna faced defeats with their partners at the Astana Open in Kazakhstan. Sharan and his partner Luke Bambridge lost in the quarterfinals to Max Purcell and Luke Saville with 3-6, 5-7. Whereas Bopanna and his partner Frederick Nielsen lost to Marcelo Arevalo and Tomislav Brkic in the first round by 6-7(5), 7-6(3), 10-5.

Sport Ministry's Selection Committee Recommends 29 Athletes for Arjuna Award

The Sports Ministry's selection committee on August 18 has recommended 29 athletes for this year's Arjuna award. The list includes the likes of cricketers Ishant Sharma and Deepak Hooda, recurve archer Atanu Das, women's hockey team player Deepika Thakur and tennis player Divij Sharan.
