Delhi Air Quality To Remain In ''Very Poor'' Category, Warns IMD
RK Jenamani, India Meteorological Department's (IMD) senior scientist, on November 3 said Delhi's air quality will remain in a ''very poor'' category in the next 24 hours. According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), the capital's air quality already reached the ''very poor'' category on November 3. Reportedly, the bursting of firecrackers on the occasion of Diwali will deteriorate the air quality.

India & Bangladesh Soldiers Exchange Sweets At Fulbari Border: Diwali
On the eve of Diwali, Border Security Force (BSF) troops shared sweets with the Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB) at Fulbai Integrated Check Post (ICP) in West Bengal on November 3. Under the leadership of Ravi Gandhi, Inspector General Border Security Force (BSF) sweets along with greetings were sent to Bangladesh. Notably, Diwali marks the return of Lord Ram to his kingdom Ayodhya after defeating Ravana in Lanka.

Wish Centre Had Sensitive Heart For Public: Rahul Gandhi
According to reports, Rahul Gandhi in a tweet wished for Modi Government to be sensitive towards Indian citizens due to an increased inflation during the time of Diwali. SC Annuls Calcutta HC's Order Of Ban On Firecrackers In West Bengal
The Supreme Court on November 1 set aside Calcutta High Court's order imposing a complete ban on firecrackers during the upcoming Kali Puja, Diwali, and other celebrations. The bench of two justices also said the order was ''extreme''. The HC didn't listen to the firecracker industry which employs thousands of workers. The apex court also said different measures should be explored to ban toxic chemicals in firecrackers.

Punjab Govt Hikes DA By 11% & Cuts Power Tariff By Rs 3 Per Unit
Ahead Diwali, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on November 1 increased the dearness allowance by 11% and reduced the power tariff by Rs 3 per unit. The benefit of the tariff will go to only those who have upto 7 kilowatt load connection. The benefit of tariff and the hike in DA will cause the burden of Rs 3,316 crore and Rs 440 on the state exchequer.

Govt To Give 8.5% Interest Rate On EPF For FY21: Reports
Making a good announcement ahead of Diwali, the government has decided to keep the interest rate unchanged on employees' provident fund at 8.5% for the financial year 2020-21, said media reports on October 29. Reportedly, the rate will benefit over five crore users of the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). Earlier in 2019-20, the rate was reduced to 8.5% from 8.65% for 2018-19.

Bhubaneswar NGO Provides Job To Poor Kids, Helps Them In Education
Ashayen, an NGO based in Bhubaneswar, is receiving appreciation from people as they provide jobs to around 58 poor children such as rag pickers and help them ''to continue their education and livelihood''. Ahead of Diwali, children paint 'Diyas', which will be sold through social media platforms. The NGO provides them different jobs during different occasions such as New Year, Diwali, Rakhi, said Ratnakar, NGO's Chairman.

10Kg Rice & 2Kg Sugar To Be Distributed By Puducherry Govt For Diwali
On the occasion of Diwali, family cardholders in Puducherry will be receiving 10 kilogram of rice and 2 kilogram of sugar from the government. According to sources, it will be distributed free of cost through Fair Price Shops. However, the government previously allowed decrease in the price of firecrackers. Furthermore, Papsco, a government agency, has set up shops in the union territory, selling crackers at a low rate.

The second edition of Mondelez India and Ogilvy India's Not Just a Cadbury ad has been released. Reportedly, local companies get an option to recruit India's most famous brand ambassador, Shahrukh Khan. Cadbury India deployed Artificial Intelligence to capture names of local stores in the commercial and employed Machine-Learning to replicate Shahrukh Khan's voice and face.
